Body Repair

Post by tantan »

I have a 1974 type 181 that I am trying to restore unfortunately it has some body rust and I am looking for a body shop local to the Houston area that can assist me with the body work.

You should contact Ken Crimmin at kubelken@aol.com He is a long time Thing expert who lives in your area and will point you in the right direction.

I've had great luck having thing panels hand hammered in Mexico... challenge is that you need a sample and template....

Just an idea.

I agree with your suggestion also. Everyone I know close to the Mexican border has had great luck with quality and price getting their car painted, upholstered and Sick Thing had an incredible full prerunner tube frame constructed in TJ for $800.. K-mann

I'd be willing to do an impression of body panels if anyone is interested...

may take me some time to dig our thing out... we need the spare panel patterns anyway.

That would be outstanding as I need various body parts so that my rusty parts can be replaced
