Birth Certificate

Post by Daviid »

I can't find my address for the Volkswagen Museum in Germany for obtaining car birth Certificates. I would appreciate anyone having it sending it to me.

Cheers,

David

I used to have tthis address but I can no longer find it.

Post this question on the type 1 forum, as there have been many more type 1 owners who have gone after this.

I believe you'll get better traffic on this subject on the type 1 forum.

Unless someone like Marc, who visits just about each forum here, steps in with the answer.

I sent away for one for my 73 Thing and I got a polite letter stating that the microfilm was too old and brittle to get the information off of them I needed.
Hope you have better luck.

Now that sucks. I wonder if the film with my '74's info is in any better shape.

I was told a couple years ago that the museum in Germany could not provide birth data for Things. Period. :?

David: Did you ever get a good answer on birth date for your Thing? I had understood that data was not available. Would love to have info mine. Let us know what you found out.

I looked at the driver's side door pillar on my Thing today, and it gave a "5/74" date. I guess that'll have to do.
