Type 1 Turbo System for Sale

Post by JohnConnolly »

OK Guys. I have a complete turbo kit for a type 1 engine for sale. The turbo is almost new (only have 8 passes on it). It uses a Holley 4bbl, vacuum secondaries, that's been turbo modified, in a draw thru configuration. It's a Schweitzer turbo, with 1 5/8" exhaust . The system is COMPLETE from carb, to turbo, to exhaust, and includes the oil drainback fitting (which goes to the stock fuel pump location). I'll even throw in the oil supply line, and a "T" fitting from your oil sending unit. You will only need to match this turbo systems included intake manifold to YOUR end castings (I really recommend extensive porting of these; matched to your heads). The exhaust is coated with POR-20 in gray. System includes wastegate (fully adjustable).

I ran this on the street at 8:1 compression and 8-10 psi boost, and have recently run it at 28 psi boost and 9:1 compression. Mid 10s at 130mph are easily achievable, IF you have the car (and the balls) to handle it. Make no mistake about it, this is a serious system, and puts out a lot of power. I only suggest you have a good set of heads to optimize your power output.

Does NOT fit under a stock decklid.

$1300 complete, you pay shipping (I'll pack it carefully).

shipping would be around $40-50 (I'll box it up).

You will need a Holley Blue fuel pump, and a blue regulator. If you go lean under boost on a turbo you blow the engine, plain and simple.

Also, I will give you guidelines on what you need to do to get this to work (locked timing, set compression, cam selection, etc). The last item you need is to fabricate a throttle cable. I used a Morse cable and ran it next to the original throttle tube.

Mr Conelly I am interested in your turbo kit if you still have it. My name is Andre and I am building a drag bug. Are the turbo hard to maintain? What is needed for the kit. If you still have it I would be getting it about the 15th of november. Thank you for your time ! mx3tec@aol.com
