what gauge steel should I use to make rocker panels? And does anyone know or reccommend anyone good in the Philadelphia, Pa are to make some for me. Thanks in advance.

I can't help you on the subject of who can make you some, or what gauge steel to use, but there is a person on "thesamba" (Thing parts section) that is selling some VW NOS rocker panels.

He does want big $$$$ plus your left nut for them though!

The classic low budget rocker panel replace/repair is to cut the ribs from a donor door. The tail end of the rib on a door and rocker are slightly different. But it makes for a good solution.. Ther is actually enough metal if you cut the door correctly to turn the corner and fix that wheel well rot with the same part. The best part is a door with a rusted out bottom works great. That makes finding a cheap door easy. K-mann
