are plug wires supposed to be loose?

I know, loose hubs and wires, too. I'm trying to tighten this car up! Replaced plugs/ wires and the new ones (plugs) have that shiny little screw on thing at the end, I forgot what its called. The wires do snap on but they seem very loose, is this normal? Bosch wires. Thanks, Rob

There should be a "snap/pop" feel when installing or removing spark plug wires. Are the Bosch wires you are using designed for air-cooled VW's; i.e. do they have a circular rubber seal on each end to block air flow?

They won't be super snug, but should have a tight feel. You should here a snap\pop when putting them on the plug.

They should have a spring wire clip inside and when you push it into the plug you should feel the spring wire gripping the plug head.

Thanks for all replies. Yes to all quiz, they do snap on and they have the seal. They wont come off w/o a pretty good tug, but they do have a lot of play in them that my old ones didn't. Just curious, thanks Rob.
