Clutch / Transmission Question

Since I loaded up my GTE on the trailer to take it to the paint shop, it seems that the clutch/transmission feels a bit wierd. It seems like the engine is straining more than usual and the clutch doesn't engage right away. It feels as if I were taking off in second gear rather than first. I am not sure if I am just being paranoid or if there is really an issue to be dealt with. Considering that I have only put about 5 miles on this car since I bought it a year ago, it may be that I am used to a more modern clutch feel. Please provide me with some expertise!!!

Considering that I have only put about 5 miles on this car since I bought it a year ago,....

I think you are just not used to the feel of a VW clutch.
