Gas tank removal tips?
I've removed the complete suspension and steering systems, as well as the fuel pump and all the related hoses down there. I disconnected the wires from the fuel sender, as well as the bolt holding the fuel filler neck in place along with its vent hose. I've got the bolts that hold the tank mounting tabs in on the bottom off also. So, what comes next? Do I just yank it out of there? It seems quite firmly wedged in there still?

You need to take the fuel filler hose off at the tank and both vent hoses, one in each corner. There are three bolts, one in the center up top and the two on the corners underneath. I think that there are a total of five covers inside the trunk that must be removed to access the various hoses and other parts. I had my steering gear and idler arm bracket out when I did mine, but am not sure that is required. The tank kind of rolls as it comes out.
Your fuel filler hose is probably trash, you can buy new 1 3/4" fuel filler hose from NAPA. The large vent hose, 16mm?, 5/8in?, is a problem as it has some very sharp bends, and a new one is apt to kink when you try to put it in. Does anyone have any sources of a hose flexilbe enough for this application?

Oh, I've got a lot more things to detach then!
Here, I thought I was nearly there...
Seriously though, thanks, it should be a snap now. I already removed all of the steering stuff including the steering box. I happened to be in the neighborhood of Roy Rogers parts in Springfield, MO the other day, so I stopped in to look at their selection of hoses. I didn't have any of the ones I needed with me, so I decided to hold off until I could bring some sections to compare, but I think they had the OE type for this vent hose- it looked very large, like 14mm, grey w/braided covering. Hopefully I'll get down there soon to compare them.
