Various trim questions

1. Can the metal strip around the window seals be removed without destroying it? Or is this an easy thing to find?

2. I can't remember if somebody had figured out a solution for the fender-to-body trim strips. It's all missing on the wagon and I really would like to replace it all.

hi, uber,,, i said in the old post , you can buy or find in the scrap yard , the chrome molding on the audi 5000 or 200 turbo ( 1984 to 90) on the front grill chrome , can do the job at the perfection with small modification and adjusment . they are in stanless steell and more resistant , if you compare with the old original in allu. ,,,albert

I see, I thought that was for the thin metal decorative trim that goes straight down the side of the car? I was actually asking about the rubber-type seal that goes between the body panels that bolt on and the actually main body of the car, as well as the trim that goes into the rubber seals around the windows. I hope that makes sense?

yes uber you can remoove the old allu. chrome trim on the glass , it is slide in the window rubber , start the job by the union ,( midle joint ) and work slowly with very small flat screw driver , d,t make twist , the most difficult to remoove is on the front door glass , you have 7-8 clip by inside the door, use a very small knife ,and for the rubber ( fender beading ) yoou can find for type3 model with ,,,T ,,, top surface ,,, the type 1 model is différent it is round top surface ,,,

oh, uber for the fender beading , make sure if you buy the type3 model ( not all the years fit good ) make sure if the model is alf moon on the top that looks samething a ,,,T,,, but round on the top ,,,albert
