Traded it for a bigger one that I am going turbo with....going to give draw thru a whirl. Anxious to see the differences between the two set ups...Staggs is the master mind this time
Waiting for the .095 copper head gaskets and interference fit flywheel from Competition engineering...all in all should have some significant zip.
Still waiting for someone to dip into the 10s with their blowthru carb set up...might just be that bus

It's a CB performance hideaway header.
http://cbperformance.com/catalog.asp?ProductID=292
A lot of it is from the CB kit, but Matt has added some stuff: namely his chargecooler and blow-off valve.
A plumb back valve is pretty much the same as a blow-off valve, except instead of venting out into the atmosphere (psshhht), the outlet is rerouted back into the pre-turbo intake. A couple of advantages are:
1.) If you have OEM fuel injection (on newer turbo'd cars), the MAF (mass airflow sensor) goes crazy if it senses air being vented into the atmosphere. A plumb back fixes this problem.
2.) It is quieter than a regular BOV, in case you want that sleeper attitude.
3.) Although a good BOV will never do this, some argue that debris can get into the intake during the milliseconds before the valve closes after venting, or that the valve can leak if not properly set up. Having it dump into the air filter takes care of this, and there is no chance unfiltered air can enter through the vave.

I see now about the difference from standard BOV, this is god to know because I may do a megasquirt turbo. Would not want to annoy that map sensor. Thanks.
Can you tell me one more thing then I'll but out?
Is chargecooler just another name for intercooler or is it something special that dose the same thing.

Good news. MS doesn't have a MAF sensor, aftermarket systems usually don't. A MAP (pressure) sensor is different. You're fine no matter what kind of BOV you have.
Chargecooler means the same thing as intercooler, but usually it is meant that the intercooler is cooled by water, not air as with most intercoolers. Water is pumped through a circuit that includes a pump and small radiator. Much easier to get cool boost for a rear engine car, and much more efficient.

chargercooler is just something those crazy folks across the pond call it
its just another word for the same thing.
if you really want to get technical.....we're actually using these as Aftercoolers. an actual "intercooler" is what is used on a multi-stage compressor......."inter" meaning between compressors. it's used to dissapate the heat generated by non-isothermal compression.
.....but thats enough of a thermo lesson for ya....

Tory: Yeah, a lot of the bits are CB such as the header and carb air boxes etc. The CB header is pretty good for the bucks, but I am not keen on their wastegate location as it is located on number two cylinder only. Can't be very good for controlling boost properly...
I would like to do a back to back dyno test on the CB header with the wastegate in their stock position and with it relocated to the collector part of the header! I have modded one system like this, but am yet to test it. Anyone done this and noticed any difference?
Ron: Can't wait to see your latest install... if you have Marty on board I am sure it's going to be special. That guy can fabricate!
Marty: any news on the words and pix?
