Hi Bill,
Thanks for the nice comments
Trailer hitches don't go through the rear guard grille at all (of which I bought a NOS one at the meeting

). Thebumper has an extra steel bar from both bumper mounts, very sturdy. The bumper mounts also have a sort of extra angled hook that bolts up to the rear chassis mount. I only noticed when I took my rear bumper off last winter. They are the best attached hitches by far compared to those of type 1's and type 3's I 've seen.
Did you notice some of the cars had chromed head lamp surroundings?
Two cars had original sun roofs; one had double head lamp washers

and a Variant had the optional brake assist in like-new state.
I also saw a lot of limousines with a deck-lid for the rear luggage compartment. Very cool and handy. I really need to get one of those. It will also further reduce engine noise into the car.
Made some good contacts for parts that day
Regarding the mags: I have made a post about the Volkswagen prototyp 100 Hp 2,0 412 Variant version some while ago. The coolest thing for me is that I found the exact magazine that the german Type3/Type4 book 'Die grossen Volkswagen' quotes from!
Unfortunately they don't exactly give the stoke of the Oettinger 1,9 engine, but they do mentione they keep the original bore of the 90,0 mm of the 1,7 engine. The counterweigthed Oettinger crank is pictured and by math must be a 74 mm. There was a post of Russ about a 74mm Oettinger crank on the typ4um, so that must be what it was used for
Regards,
Walter
