New Ride Height and Tire size

Post by Kubelmann »

After years of work I just got Herr Kubelman's first new set of "real" tires installed. Most of you know what I have done to this fine machine's suspension. Anyway, front tires 205 75 15 Dominators on custom made 6 x 15 on 5 x 130 pattern offroad racing aluminum wheels (Race Ready) Rear 8 x 15 Centerlines 5 x 130 running BFG AT 215 75 15.. Wow... everything clears and works perfectly. When the 3 x3 arms are done I will take the car to the next step with front and rear work and the reat of the tube frame. The main point of this post is to say with the correct cut and turned beam, shocks and rear torsion bar setting, these tires fit nicely. Went out yesterday and had a very cool off road "treffen" and I guess i had forgotten what a difference the end of the rainbow looks like when the tires match the set up of the suspension and running gear. Prior to this I had tires that I had laying around that were just rolling stock while I was working on the car. Now that the tires stick to the ground it is a killer experience instead of tons of dirt and dust and standing nearly still while tires spin.
