What I know so far.
The RGB bus trans is the same as a type1 swing axle trans except for the flipped ring gear. Therefore all the swing axle goodies like super diffs will fit the RGB trans.
The RGB trans is the same if it is a small nut or large nut. The difference is in the Redux boxes themselves.
The bolt pattern on the small and large nut redux boxes are only off by 1/32 of an inch, and thats only on the bolt hole that is by itself. The 3 bolt holes that are near each other are the same. All you have to do is either drill all the holes the next size up to allow a little play, or just oblong the one hole.
Need help with Johnson Adapters

What year is that tranny? The one that I took out of my '62 Double Cab & on all early transaxles, They didn't come w/ the 3 detent plugs that are on the section behind the nose cone. Mine was leaking fluid out of them, you should be able to see the 3 gear selector rods through the holes. I never understood why they were designed like that? For off-road use I would try to put something in those holes....
Another thing, the nose cone & hockey stick are different than a bug style. The bus one comes in an inch or so lower, If you need a bug style cone & hockey stick I'll trade you. I need that style you have for my D/C, I sold my tranny thinking they were the same.
I'm running a t3 swing axle in mine to get rid of the reduxes.
Let me know?

The one in the pic is out of a small nut out of a split bus. A '59 or '60 I think. The other one I have is a large nut trans. the large nut one has home made adapters on it so it may have the bug nose on it already. but i know for a fact the small nut one came right out of a bus, so I am interested in trading to help you out. May end up helping both of us if both my trannies have the bus nose.

Hot, humid air is less dense than cooler, drier air. This can allow a golf ball to fly through the air with greater ease, as there won't be as much resistance on the ball.

Actually I was thinking, it can only be a 61 > 67. Because 60 an older were that cool split case w/ NO 1st gear syncros & '68 was a 3 ribber!MNAirHead wrote:Definately from a 59 --- just received a confirmation call ..thrown_hammer wrote:The one in the pic is out of a small nut out of a split bus. thrown_hammer wrote:I started a thread awhile ago over at that other site. I will try to import the good parts as I have time. I have the trans and axles on jack stands and have no idea what I am doing... I need to get the Johnson adapters on there. I will start by just getting everything cleaned up and degreased.
In order to take the axles off do i unbolt the plates on the side of the trans body?
I took the whole week off so i hope to get at least something done with this thing.
