Cold Start Valve
I'm looking at buying a new cold start valve for my '74 412 with AFC fuel injection. There are a couple of sites that sell Bosch valves for the 1975 Porsche 914, and they look like the same thing in my car. Also there is another guy selling a NOS valve listed as for the type 4, 1971-'73. Of course those years had the D-tronic system. Will either the Porsch vlave or the D-tronic one work in my 412?

Either one will fit as long as it physically fits and seals up and your plug fits. I have used all of them. Even some water cooled ones will fit. The key things you really need for 914/411/412 is that the body of the CS injector must be short enough to not interefere with the dizzy and its nice if you have a flow through model (fuel goes through one side and out the other.
Other than that, they are simple positive/negative solenoids with very little flow difference. Ray

cold start valves
yes ray, many différent model can doo the job for the 412 but to the condition the électrick wiring is the same ,, take your ,,vtvm,, tester and take the résistance on the 2 wire ,, exampl,,if you have 5 ohm on your car , take valve model with the same résistance ,, the ,,cpu,, can geeve the good voltage for to open the valve ,,for diférent degrées,f. for différent car , this valve can work with the voltage 3to12 volts ,, ===example,,, 6 volts alf open and 12 volts full open i d,t have the exact diagram for that in my hand but the comparaison is appx that,,for the 412-73 , it is full open for the fraction of sec. but for the model74 it is différent , the résistance on the 2 wire is important not only the same look, plus wend you take the résistance you can see if the valve is good , if you have ,,0,, ohms,, on the scale ,,x10 the valve is short circuit ,, i d,t can geeve the long tech. information for that my english is limited ,, alb.
