Engine rebuild gasket kits

Post by vwbill »

Hey Guys, I am waiting for a Reinz 1.7 L Engine Gasket kit and they have a Elring kit available now but I haven't used that mfg. before. Has anyone used that mfg.? If so, are there any differences?? Thx Bill

Yes, Elring kits are also very high quality, though the Victor Reinz seems to be of slightly more consistant quality over the last few years. I think this is because Elring has started outsourcing a few of the componets. But generally they should be quite good. Make sure the kit has is for fuel injection...if you are using injection. At one time, there was a kit seperate for both. They also made universal kits (carbed and FI). I had thought that all were universal for some time but just be sure. Ray
