Someday I'll get around to tearing down a transaxle to inspect and renew as you have suggested...just curious if these tools would ever really be useful?

Oh my oh My! ...Yeeeeees! That tool is very useful. If memory serves it is not for the mainshaft gearing....but for setting the pinion depth which is the mainshaft. I have found various difficult ways around it...but that is cooool! It may also be usable on the type 3 automatic.Ray
