adaptation pertronix

hey there
i have a 009 distributor with pertronix ignitor in my bay 1979 dual car
i want to go back to 005 distributor with vacum advance .
is it possible to adapt the pertronix ignitor used for the 009 in my 005 distributor??

I think you will need to buy a different Pertronix igniter that's made for use with a vacuum dizzy. Side by side, you can't tell a difference, but the pick-up is in a different location on the module which enables you to run the dizzy in the correct rotation in the motor. This ensures that the vacuum can is in the correct position (which is critical on a stock shrouded type4 motor) since fitting it rather tight.

I don't know if it will interchange or not, but you can contact the people at Pertronics and they will be able to answer your question. They seem to be customer friendly folks, as they have helped me before. Good Luck!
