I bought a pair of disk brake adapters for 181 spindles from our friendly neighborhood Kubelmann. Just wanted to pass on everything arrived boxed carefully and in perfect condition. He even provided tracking info so I could watch it's realtime progress on the internet.............J/K, but I did know what day to expect the box.
I am installing a Thing front beam assembly under my Class 11 style bug and I decided to use a disk brake setup I had scored from the Pomona swap for cheap. Bought the beam about 3 years ago ( ) from Mattt so this is a long time comming.
As you all know, or should know, standard type 1 spindle DB adapters are close but not exactly right for Thing spindles, the bolt holes are off by quite a bit (I just checked) so getting the right parts is crucial.
Thanks Kubel, looking forward to doing business again!

So you think your project is taking forever eh? Well you've got nothing on me.....
Thanks Class 11, Kind words are appreciated. You are correct in your info about Thing spindles being different than the other T-1's thus the recent complaints about "other" after market adapters and disk brake its for Things. DUH!! Also remember to use 67-74 Ghia length front flexible brake lines with your conversion.
I suggest ss braided teflon lined flex brake lines on all 4 wheels..
The only seal we have found that hold the grease with this Thing conversion is the NAPA part:
Inner bearing seal NAPA part number 15805 40mm x 52mm x 7 mm
