The First Annual Thing Door Throughout Silicon Valley:
You are cordially invited to The First Annual Thing Door Throughout Silicon Valley: http://VeeWiki.com/TheThing/TdTsv
This technical event will include a transferable, and annually upgradeable interface, 181 door with a picture of a microprocessor on it, as we tour prominent High Technology companies. On the first Saturday of April 2006 each 181 will donate some part of a binary code that is in fact each persons name, as they hand off the door to complete the grand journey. Each person’s binary name will be placed in special spot on the 181 door inside the microprocessor picture and all pictures of this silly adventure will be posted at http://VeeWiki.com/TheThing/TdTsv

So TDTA is in an active and forward moving state.
The Door left Toronto and arrived with Sal in NY earlier this spring.
Today the door traveled to Long Island Sound and trasfered from Sal to John. Pictures were taken and the door is now in CN. Now it will travel across the eastern seaboard and beyond. It is April and we have lift off
TDTA until we get it done...

Latest TDTA update:
The Thing Door Throughout America made a second showing at the Treffen,
thanks to Mike Morrell. Many more new signatures were added to the door and
it seems the southeast portion of the door is being filled with signatures.
Thor Pitman and I returned to the Tampa Bay area with the door packaged for
shipment to another Thing lover who will gather more signatures as it moves
across the US. Who wants to accept responsibility for the door and keep the
project alive? If you are that person, pipe up.
Warm Regards, Tom

Let get er on the road...

Re: TDTA (a new beginning)
How about not (again) but rather (still) It has been missing for years.... It vanished after leaving Florida headed to the Mid-West Things from 4 different state wore it while it was here in the Rockies but that was back in 2006 or so. Perhaps a better idea is for me to donate a door get a new covering and start the fun over again for the third or fourth time. It is always fun and a mystery how long it will travel efore it ends up on a car or a closet or where ever. K-mann
I would happily donate a new door for the revival of this fun project TDTA2012 sounds groovy to me.

Re: TDTA (a new beginning)
I had to ask since I remember a door from back in 98 when I bought my Thing. Sadly the car is in a bunch of pieces right now so a door atm wouldn't do much good coming my way.
