hy,,wshan,, i look in the siemens page ,, and i have see one thing,, the sender 105-919-051-1 is with a float but with 5 screws on the top ,, not in the tube but with the tube base or fixing bolt,, it is good for the 45 liters tank and he play 3.3 to 48.5 ohlms and the model 105-919-053-2 as the same description but for the 40 liter and he play of 5 to 33 ohlms ,, it is made for the model with the voltage régulator in the back of the guage ,, i thing this information can help you ,,oh ,,siemens sale the new guage and the new voltage régulator ,,or vibrator ,, albert

Walter, the VW classic parts centre in Wolfsburg still lists the '74 sender unit (411 919 051A). Although indicated with a yellow mark (limited availability) you can still give it a try. Good luck. Jan Peter
