Tie Rod Ends

Post by justinshelton »

Hi, Guys:

I want to replace my inner and outer tie rod ends. Does anyone tell me exactly what to get? I came across a site that have right- and left- threaded tie rods, so now I'm confused about which to get!

A link to a vendor's page with what I need is much appreciated!

Here's my busdepot.com order:

Qty Item Price Part Number
Idler Bushing

Original equipment manufacturer (OEM) or equivalent. $12.02 411417325
Steering Damper Bushing $1.38 113425117
Tie Rod End

Left Hand Thread, Meyle/Germany, '68-on (Bug from 5/68) $10.94 311415811C
Tie Rod End

Right Hand Thread, Meyle/Germany, 68-up (Bug from 5/68) $8.87 311415812C

I have ball joints and strut inserts and already installed a new steering damper, so I think I'm good to go!

It is highly recommended to get the bronze super beetle idler arm bushing for longer life. See this link for some more details
