Steering wheel removal
I have to replace my turn signal switch, but don't know how to remove the steering wheel -- primarily the padded horn cap. Can anyone tell me?

The late steering wheel's horn button is held on near each corner using plastic snap-on retainers. Resist the temptation to pry it off, just grip the top edge with your fingertips and tug. Once the first one comes loose it should get easier, be prepared for it to pop off all at once before you've had a chance to disconnect the wire. If you do manage to break any of the retainers they are still available new:

After you remove the horn pad There is a nut 27 mm nut that holds the steering wheel in place and a washer.. It usually take a breaker bar to get the nut loose. The steering wheel has a large enough diameter that you can hold the outside edge of the wheel and use the breaker bar to crack the nut loose. Do not use the steering wheel lock to hold it still or the steering stop you can hurt stuff that way. After the nut and washer are removed, gently wiggle the steering wheel loose from its spline. Note the position that the wheel is in when you remove it so that you can put it back on in the same position. Some folks even mark the location with nail polish, white-out or tape to ensure proper alignment upon reassembly.
