Hey Ray...Junqueyarde Question!
My local Junkeyarde in Pasa-getdown-dena (not to be confused with the other Pasadena, the one in California) has a 1985 Audi GT in it, intact so far...anything of interest for us T4 ACVW types to pluck from its carcass? Kind of a rare WCVW/Audi, so I figured I'd ask.

Is it a 5cyl./5spd.? That is one sweet drivetrain! We'll mid-mount it in a 412 coupe- I'll provide the bodyshell, you provide the technical expertise!

Yep Herr Doktor Krapf, it is a 5 cyl 5 speed TURBO, and the thought DID cross my mind
I wonder if the transaxle could be used with a T4 engine, reversed ring gear, mounted in the rear...hmmm!
It's got the Voltmeter/Boost Gauge/Oil Temp cluster, VDO standard-sized gauges, so if anyone wants any of them, let me know...

Not really anything comes to mind...but it was a very sweet car. The instruments are nice. The seatbelt winders for many of the 80's units can be grafted into our cars.
By the way...motor trend car of the year....VW golf/rabbit. Very nice write up out on the shelf now. That will be my next car when I am done with my 2006 Jetta...which is also a very nice car. The five cylinders are super. Ray

Seatbelt winders for the Audi GT work better than ours? If so, it might be worth it.
Thanks for the reply, Ray.
I rented a New Beetle in Denver about a month ago, 5 cyl, 6-speed Tiptronic, leather, heated bunwarmers, truly sweet handling car, but my buds gave me a hard time..."where's the bud vase, dude?"...
