White front indicator for 412

Post by Hulken »

Me and a mate are looking for the possibility to custom make some sets of white front indicators for our 412s. Anyone wanna join in if we can make an affordable deal......

Count me in for 3 sets. How will they be made? The 412 front's are hard to find, will stock yellow also be available?

Thanks for the offer.

We'll be making the white ones, but stock yellow could of course be made. I think I may have some spare yellow if you're interested....

Thanks for the offer on the spares, but I'm set with yellow ones. I prefer the clear one's for a touch of "German Look".

How will the parts me made and from what material?

Cool idea, count me in if they are reasonably priced. Those look flatter than the lenses we have over here, which would make them twice as cool...

I'd be good for 2 sets if the price was right. Cool idea.

What material are you making these from? Are you casting them or molding them? Ray

I am not the production guy, but my guess will be that they are casted since they say only 15 can be made in each lot....

Actually....I think you are talking about the fit issues with the base part that contains the bulb and reflector and the gasket assembly and no so much the lense itself......right?
Those get a bit warped with age. Also the gaskets are a bit sketchy. I cast new silicone gaskets for mine aboyt 10 years go that were thicker but virtually the same. It fit much better. Ray

I may be seeing things, but I believe the picture of the clears on Wally's old car are flatter than the ones we have over here. Whether or not that is the plan for this proposed run, I'm not sure...From my experience hunting for these for an E21 BMW, the original Italian clears, and maybe even the Euro ambers, were flatter, or more "low-profile" than the U.S. market ones. That is partially leading me to this conclusion.
