New member with new car:)

Post by Hawken »

Hello everyone. My name Haakon and I am 41 years old. I live in Norway. I bought my first 412 in 1987, and sold it in 89 '. Having regrets on this sale for 20 years, I finally came across a good car that now stands in my garage. This is a 1974 412 coupe. The car is 100% free from rust, and has not been on the road since 1988. It has only 83.000 km on the trip, and are generally in very good condition. My plan now is just to fix some small cosmetic things and hopefully get it on the road again this summer. I´v had many VW´s, and currently has a 1971 1602 and a 1990 Golf cabriolet. The cars are used only in summer season.

The intention was to introduce myself under the thread "Roll call". My mistake :? .

Yes welcome to the STF.
But I mind that is just too nice a car not to be in my garage. Tell us more about your ride. Finding one that nice is pretty rare.
Hot, humid air is less dense than cooler, drier air. This can allow a golf ball to fly through the air with greater ease, as there won't be as much resistance on the ball.

That is such a horrible looking car!...so that you cause yourself no embarassment here...please ship it to me as soon as possible for proper disposal..... ......Welcome! Very, very nice looking car!
I hope you like our humor!

Oh...and its very interesting that its a 1974...with steel bumpers! ..we didn't have those here in 1974. Do you mind telling us what month of 1974 its production was ? Thank you!

Thanks for all the nice feedback :D . And Ray, I do have a sense of good humor   . I don´t know the production month, but I will check it out tomorrow if you can tell me where to find it? By the way, these cars were never sold with anything other than steel bumpers in Norway (or europe as far as I know). My first 412 (74 'Wagon, U.S. mod) had alu bumpers.

If you need anything, let me know,

Välkommen Haakon!
What a nice car, one of the nicest ever seen!

Guess the no trim windows, the no rubber at the bumpers and no trim at the wheel arcs is because of the non "L" model. It has the 1,8 carb engine, hasn't it?

I see carpet kits for this car on the german ebay, EBAY.DE, all the time!

Not too expensive, by Eurpean standards that is.

Hei Lars, og takk for det :D

You are absolutely right. This is a "cheap" edition :) . The car is originaly a 1.8 with carbs, but this engine was unfortunately taken out once many years ago. The engine in the car today, is a 1.7 (2.2) with double empi 44.
