Re: Chenowth Explorer A-Arm... My SLOW Build
I have measured it with and without the bearings and such. As for shimming, the unit bearings are a very tight fit and need to be pulled in with the bolts. I dont think they can be shimmed.

What happens if you swap sides on the arms?
Collecting parts again... No I'm not going to say why!

Spoke with Avery's air cooled today. They can fab me up a custom set and even eliminate coilover adapter plates. Now to save up the extra money. They arent cheap!

Before you commit, get a hold of Dave Brown for trailing arms. I personally have never purchased a set of arms from him... but I have seen examples of his work time and again.

Can you post some pictures of these trailing arms and their misalignment problems? Maybe a "super welder" from this site can help you out here for less than buying new arms?

Trailing arms from Avery's (Dave Brown) are ordered. I will post up pics in a couple weeks when they arrive!

What did you do with your old arms? Did the company you bought them from take them back?

Still waiting on my arms from Avery's, but I found some nice goodies on Craigslist today... Not sure of the brand and havent been able to cross reference the numbers on the internet, but they look like Radflo or Fox 4" 2.0 hydraulic bump stops.

The new Dave Brown arms showed up the other day. I had to readjust the inner pivots to get everything to line up. Next to finish the outer pivot plates, pick up some axles and get the shocks mounted! Im excited, things are starting to move forward again! Dave does some beautiful work and was great to deal with. Highly recommended for those looking for some custom arms!
