I got to the shop at 5 am this morning to sort out my brake light turn signal problem and found I had a short to ground on the brake circuit. OK here is where I am at with my ohm meter on the white brake light wire with everything connected the way it is. (White brake light wire not connected to the trailer connector and I have a short to ground on that circuit.) I took the 1157 bulbs out of the rear the short is still there. So I have to find the short to ground. If I disconnect the turn signal wiring 1 foot from the turn signal switch I lose the short to ground. So I got to go back into the harness to the switch and see what I did wrong. I believe what I will find is that the white wire which is ground for the rear lights is wired to the stop lamp white wire. So it is a matter of cutting those 2 wires and connecting them up right to fix the problem.

Now I have no short to ground on the white brake light wire. Simple mistake easy to correct.
Lights fixed.

I am getting close to being done. Fixing to go to Richmond Hill and see if I can find some inner bearings and seals to fit the spindles that I got from Skid only place left really to check is Napa. Tie rods should be there when I get home tonite. So I have to set the toe front and rear, bleed the brakes do a little more wiring and throw a windshield at the car and it will be road ready.

Napa is a no go @ 130 clams for 2 inner bearings 2 inner races and 2 seals plus have to be ordered. I have tried Advance auto, Auto-zone, Bearings and Drives, Motion Industries, Pep Boys, Car Quest, O'reilly's, to name a few.

OK ladies I have been on the phone with some real nice to talk to people. I called
http://www.tritecmotorsports.com/Off_Ro ... _Seals.htm
And was given Gregory Dupree's phone number, this guy is the King of Customer Service. He was more than helpful and had some killer prices on bearings.
Image
Only problem was I didn't need enough parts to fill their 100 minimum order, so he refers me to http://gryarea.com/2001.html because they don't have a minimum order, and sell their parts, again Great Customer Service. Both these guys are really worth looking into. Especially for disk brakes if you want to save a few bucks. Gray Area is working to get their products online so we can shop online, give them a week or so and the site should be up and running.

We have a board member that saw I was having trouble finding parts, inner bearings and seals and is going home to double check to see if they are what I need and send them to me. It is really great to have friends here I am lost for words. I was hoping to have the bearings today locally, but that wouldn't and couldn't happen. We still have http://www.tatummotorsports.com/store.php?cPath=6_36 also with half the price of NAPA.

This morning I ordered the inner bearings and seals for the combo spindles from
http://www.tritecmotorsports.com/Off_Ro ... _Seals.htm
I am getting 8 races, 8 bearings and 8 seals shipped for less than what I could buy 2 each of from Napa. They should be here Thursday. I also ordered a 11/16/X 18 tap to shorten the tie rods, for 16 bucks it should be here tomorrow or Thursday also. Fixing to close the shop and go get some bolts and them get insurance put on the car and register it. The wiring is 99 % done. Just a few odds and ends and it will be ready to roll.

It's always that last 1% that bites you! Hopefully, murphy stays away...

The wiring that is left is wiring up the starter input from the ignition switch, just got to put a end on it. And wire in the fuel pump relay. Both are in the back of the car and a little hard to get to. I still have to tap into key on power to the overhead light for the oil, gen lights to work, and add a toggle switch for the dome light. And ground the rear lighting under the dash. I will be re doing the front lighting at a later date and adding a relay with larger wiring for the lights.
OK here's the short list..........
One the front
Tighten front beam bolts install new pinch bolts in front trailing arms, pack and install bearings that I am waiting on. Shorten tie rods and re-thread the ends, so the toe can be set. Adjust front brakes so they can be bleed. Put steering wheel on. Install the seats. Adjust head lights.
On the rear
Tighten rear axle nuts, adjust rear brakes so they can be bleed. I have one brake line in the rear I need to re-bend and re-reinforce the hard-lines on the redux boxes so they don't vibrate. Tighten bolts on the rear leaf spring. Install swing axle boots and fill gear boxes with the tranny plug out. Set rear toe.
Finish welding up the tree bars.
Install the windshield.
Install brake hose clips for the hoses front and rear.
Put the sticker on the tag.

Genny aint charging may go ahead and go with a Alt with built in Reg.
Oil light goes out really fast going to install manual gauge and see how fast it builds pressure and how much.

The mechanical stuff isn't a problem. I have 2 days left to finish the car, getting the parts on time is. Good news is the UPS tracking number from tritechmotorsports is showing the bearings will be delivered by 10:30 in the morning. The tap I need to re-thread the tie rods should be here tomorrow also. I want to set the rear toe with the rear axles @ 0 degrees. In order to do this I need the car on 4 wheels. So I will be able to roll the car on it's wheels back and forth to find the sweet spot. With the reduxes there is a lot of camber change. But it was tamed a lot with the heavy leaf spring. I am hoping we got the camber while cruising @ 0 degrees. I am real sure the toe will change thru-out the camber change. So I feel this is as good as it can get. The next 2 days I will be focused on getting the car done. The wiring is done for now everything works that I need for a maiden cruise.
