An a/f meter only responds to the level of oxygen in the gases and converts it to a ratio of air to fuel

Don't know about fuel over their but here we have "winter grade fuel they shove down our throats cuz the new cars 'start better' that 'maybe it'?

no clue ? maybe the fuel pressure went up, that happened to me once.

sounds like your main circuit is too lean and your pilot circuit is too rich, does it have a AC pump squirting in fuel when you mash the throttle ? that lean spike is too little squirt.
i don't know about your exact carb though but that's the general stuff.... if it helps

Yes mate that helps.
I've now increased the pump jet size and lean spike has gone

The main jets have been increased one size and that's now good

But and it's a big But I can nit decrease the idle jets any more if I do the engine will not run at all, even with the mixture screws all the way out she runs so lean she just stalls,

I know I replied to this ? my reply is nowhere to be seen
bummer on the MSD box , I send them to back to MSD in Texas , most of the time it's only $45 to fix them

Hi madmike, I'm in the UK so I'm guessing pay the time I've paid postage and packing each way it would be cheaper to buy a new one

In that case , Maybe a local radio/TV repairman ? can't be that hard to fix?
