In between getting a few loads of Firewood,I ordered a Noise filter for the Ignition box that's coming in the 'snailmail' Saturday I pulled the 1915cc turbo motor out of my sandrail,(selling it I'm in the middle of installing it into a Tub Buggy),,then I changed out the Alternator from the 2074cc to the 2180, took me all afternoon :roll: Ibuprofen/Dry Sauna ,jump in the cool shower, then the 'Hot Tub out on the Deck, ate one of my special cookies was in bed by 9:30ish,Comfortably numb, ,,,,,next day was not fun , it hurt to walk :lol: I thinks I overdid it :roll: :lol:So Mom's day I Pulled the 1600cc out of the Tub Buggy, Ignore the mess , I'm still storing my kids honda junk,Cheers,mike

What mess? ;->
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

Why don't you just bite the bullet Mikey......go to the dark side...you know you want to....... :wink: :lol: 8)

With crank trigger and ECU controlled ignition you will never worry about a red box again.
Cry once....buy once..... 8)

I could probably do it but I don't think that would be actual help.

A set of IGN1a coils will even allow boosting dwell if needed under boost...
(although the Boba Mk2 golf was running a IGN4a (~2000 era VW 4 post coil) at 1400HP...)
Although even the common the GM truck coils sound like you are smacking a hammer on your workbench if you test them there.

Those CDi setups are really only needed if you are firing through a distributor, which is actually the weakest link.

You will not miss carbs --- programmable EFI and ignition provides awesome control, with ridiculous datalogging capability.

Just sayin....it's an option. 50,000 plus miles on mine. :wink: 8)
Lots of Samba threads on ignition problems and workarounds....as JPaul says.....don't mess with my ignition thread!!!!! :roll: :roll: He doesn't want to hear about successful options........
I'll bet you would have to look long and far to find a thread about crankfire issues..........

Tha MSD Off Road box I just bought don't work :roll:
Mallory HyFire VI works great ,I even hooked up the 2 step feature 8) This Time around I installed a new Ground cable (starter bottom stud) to the battery/body,also installed a new 'noise filter' from MSD , took it for a ten mile trip to town & back home :D warmed it up,, 2 step works great no pills to mess with.This box was $150 :wink:
