That's a very valid point.
We ended up, as we often do, with "no good deed goes unpunished".
I remember when K-mann first urged a wait-and-see attitude with regard to BM/TU, and I supported it for the reasons you stated. The more knowledgeable sources of parts and information the better. Sadly, the time for waiting has passed I'm afraid. Please don't let this round of punishment sway you from doing more good deeds in the future.

Thanks again for providing this place for discourse and exchange.

No probs, man. Most of the time, it is my great pleasure to host STF. It's the relatively rare events, like the TU/MB deal, that are just a misery.

It's incredible to me how these things spill over negatively into the forums. I am embarrassed for MB and I don't even know him. Just crummy news for everybody to read. I just don't like bad news. The "pile on" syndrome is just as strange to me. But it is hard to stop, once unleashed.

If TU/MB continue the current course, I guess we will be hearing about it here. Can't wait ......

Damned if I do damned if I don't.. I have taken it in the ( fill in the blank) on this one. I get if from all sides. Mike is a long time Thing community member. Still the evidence is overpowering. He has not delivered countless orders. For over a years I have spent loads of time trying to get resolution for those who have been treated unfairly. I am powerless to resolve this issue. My one and only goal is to help my fellow Thing lovers realize their personal Thing dreams. I still hold close to this goal. I do think that new online Thing folks need a way to be aware of the risk in ordering parts from a certain source. I only hope that we can come to a common kind point in this issue to protect new comers and for the rest of it let it rest.

Well well well... since this Mr Mike Brasso has been given the ability to steal from all us poor suckers due to the power of the Internet I think it is only fair that the fight begins where it began.

I have had my money stolen by Mike Brasso and Things Unlimited.

My actions to date have been very subdued in an attempt to get something back.

Well I have given up on that approach and am currently following through on legal action.

While this ball is gathering speed I think it in the nest interest of the 181 Community to ensure he has no more victims.

I have setup mikebrasso.info and over the next few days will build a site there with all the info anyone will need to ensure they do not fall for the same line that I and many others have.

If you have had dealings with Things Unlimited that were negative and resulted in you loosing your money then please email me at scum@mikebrasso.info so I can add your info to the file and use it to help the legal approach. I will also add you to the info list so you can be kept up to date on events as the fold.

If you have info on Mike Brasso or recent locations then I would appreciate this as well.

Feel free to check out my Ebay auction for one very rare Things Unlimted Credit Card Bill also, I mean if you want to get one direct of Mike Brasso then feel free to get your own, if not then you can buy mine at a fraction of the cost – item id 260047527821

Scott, Thanks for the kind words of support. Hoping your beautiful Thing baby is coming back together.... The TDTA is currently in Florida with Mike Morrell. Check out the next edition of the 181 mag for some cool shots of your door sticker.. That is some awesome crate you built. It traveled over 300 miles with us not to mention all the other places it has been asn will go to. And the dream continues.

Found and interesting post here. Thought it was worth sharing . . .
middle sister wrote:I am Michael's sister. I was curious to see what was left of Michael on the internet and came accros this thread.

It sucks that all of you have been burned by Michael. He will likely lose it when/if he reads this, but just so all of you who trusted him know, Michael is going into re-hab any day soon (we are all hoping) for a serious drug problem. Yes he had a divorce, yes he had some medical issue, but the true source of his problems came from a drug addiction. He is presently living w/o electricity, hot H2O, or phone service. His house is about to be foreclosed on, and well you all know what has happened to his business.

Michael was an excellent source of info and parts for you thing-a-lings. He was an excellent businessman. I think I speak for our whole family when I say we are certainly sorry for all that Michael has done to hurt you financially, personally, and for your trust.

One day when he comes out of re-hab and gets back on his feet, I am sure he will be as terribly sorry as we are. He is truly messed up right now.

Here is hoping that one day he will be able to build up his reputation and again be a great source for VW Thing enthusiasts.

Sincerely yours, deb

Gee.....Wonder which form of poison(drug) is was?????? Let me guess...........Was it Meth? Why did not ONE of us see the signs? I feel for those who have been ripped off, but I also feel for Mike and his family also. Perhaps we rushed to judgement. I sincerely hope that Mike's re-hab does work and that he is able to return to the THING family, and his own. I know we are not a bleeding heart society, but if he returns to his business, I will be a customer.
Thanks;

Huummmm......
I wonder what happened Brad's (this thread's author) post of the Sunday, Nov. 12?
It seems to have mysteriously disappeared.......

ztnoo,

There is no need to wonder. I deleted the post. Brad's post was just a
"pile on". Unkind and uncalled for. Offered no new information. Was just intended to be hurtful. Apparently, both you and Brad feel revenge will somehow make things right. I don't agree and STF will not be party to it. Similar posts will also be eliminated.

On October 31, I deleted your last post to this thread in which you posted pictures of Mike Basso at his home. I warned you then, privately, that your posts were harmful and dangerous. This is your last warning. I can't make myself any clearer.

I want to echo Doc's post. I am sad about this entire situation but that still gives no excuse for being unkind. STF is all about sharing VW technical information not continually flaming on folks.
