Nope. Nothing new at the moment. The engine will hopefully be ready for testing during summer 2015 so you have to have patience until that.

Gentlemen,

Just today our fabricator brought me the prototype aluminum shroud with Type 547 blower housing vanes in thermoplastic, in a configuration where the vanes are on a backing plate and slid up inro the fan housing as one piece and riveted down.

I'll get photos up ASAP. The unit had to be taken back to the shop for a small change. We are going to offer these vane insert assemblies for sale.

We will field test them in actual races (with cylinder head temp sensors for each side) before releasing them.

My shroudproject is on hold as long as I'm working on the car it will go into... Anyhow I was planning on making the oilcooler system similar to the Porsche 993 with external oil cooler.
Wondering if this will be overkill??? I was thinking maybe I'd use one of the 911 oil tanks I have laying around... I think it might fit under the body without sticking out too much below...




I would fit this one under the front headlight in the front. Maybe with and other one on the other side too...?

Yes, you should be able to use your 911 oil tank with a CB Performance dry sump pump. It's just a matter of plumbing. We run three-gallon oil tanks (12 qtes) for racing. If I remember right, the 911 street tanks are about ten qts. You would need an oil thermostat to keep the oil out of the cooler until you reach operating temp.

I was very impressed yesterday with the center-mount fan assembly prototype. I asked the fabricator to give me a set of the vanes on their backing plate for photography purposes.

I do not expect any more than stock cooling out of this arrangment. The purpose is partly cosmetic and partly functional, as in added carb access due to the shroud shape.

I guess there's gonna be a run on reversed-weber manifolds (puts the always-getting-plugged idle jets and screws on the inside)

I might consider the T4 version when you get some results.

Looks very promising and hopefully won't cost a grand.

Oh this is neat. I'm interested to see where this goes. Maybe release the designs specs of the tins so we can all build our own versions?
