Loves those Husky’s. If you get one let us know how it does. I get to stupid to do dirt bikes anymore, I outrun my talent real quick.

It's been about 30yrs. since I sold the same bike that helped me to lose my right ACL.
Now that spark that never completely got smothered has been reignited.
Saw this on C-List a few miles away and had to have it.

It'll be a few months til I get to ride it as I'm in the midst of a complete resto including all new engine seals,gaskets and the next size up from stock bore, top end rebuild, along with a suspension and brake refresh also.

I'll lyk when I get her back together and am able to give the Wolf Snout a try.

That Wolf Snout looks like a good deal. Worth checking out. I prefer to wear a helmet when serious offroading but not always. And that woudl work with or without.

Just picked up a Parker Pumper off Ebay for $90. It's in excellent condition. Rugged Radios carries carries a DOT certified (not race legal) helmet that is wired and plumbed for a good price.

I may try the wolf snout. Heck, I may try their goggles too. The reviews look promising and they seem very reasonably priced.

While I like the idea of a full helmet with pumper, especially because I hate wearing a headset all day, I just can't help but feel that's just too much to do in a play car.

Also, here in Florida, we can ride on the streets, so I'd feel like a real dummy wearing a full face helmet riding down the interstate while in shorts and a T-shirt.

I think you are spot on with all of that. I have a lot of money wrapped up in helmets and pumper. Personally I love wearing it. But it's a PITA taking it on and off when just in play cruise mode. That said, I hate wearing the headsets all day especially with glasses. I think I am packing both for the MR trip just because I can.

I don’t mind the headsets, better then a helmet as far as comfort and visibility goes for me, the gel ear pads and top piece are a lot better then the ones we had on the Corps.

I'm guessing you have a small head (giggity). I don't, so wearing headsets make me feel like my head is being pressed in a vice all day. It gives me a headache.

Day 1 on the Mohave trip we did masks. Because of my windshield configuration (open triangle in the middle) my right eye was packed full of dust boogers and my co-rider's left eye was just as bad.

Day 2 and 3 we did helmets and pumpers.....I may never drive my car in the dirt again without wearing my helmet. Dang that was nice. Even in the warm temps.

Glad you found the key to happiness. My windshield did pretty good, the dust masks we wore did ok but I had to keep putting it up after pulling it down.

Now you know why even in the sand I now wear a helmet exclusively with a dropdown face shield. I also wear a balaclava as a backup device to cover most of the face.

You can get helmets with intercom capabilities also.

Leather, have you tried the balaclava or sand sock style of face mask? I borrowed one on my recent west coast adventure, and fell in love with them. The bandanna's we originally wore were a pain because they had to be tied just right and still fell down often. The sand sock just stays where it needs to. An added bonus is it covers your hair, keeping it largely dust free.

Using a Parker pumper helmet with a skirt, instead of a balaclava, I found long ago that the dust is kept out, so is fogging. For warm to hot temps, putting the skirt inside of a shirt or driving suit not only keeps dust from getting under the skirt, it also cools your body. I keep encountering offroad racers who have a pumper and expensive helmet, that do not use the skirt, then I see them coming in at the end of a race with faces full of dirt and the shield tipped halfway up because of dirt on the inside of the shield. Having money to spend to go racing does not mean the person is intelligent. That's like driving in the rain with a surrey top but no windshield and wondering why your face is getting wet.
