I wonder if there is a way you could boost reference those secondaries??

The secondaries are mechanically vacuum actuated. They are connected to the throttle linkage so they open the butterflies like a mechanical set up, but they also have a weighted plate that requires the engine to suck (vacuum actuated) the weighted plate open. So if you run this carb on say a na 1914 you will probably never get enough suck out of it to ever actually turn the secondaries on. I’m going on the assumption that when the turbo starts to draw its air in the secondaries are opened up.

Tuning is going great with my last fill up giving me 22.4mpg of around town driving. Naturally aspirated (more static compression though) I was getting right around 23mpg, so I should be there soon. With the heat (117degF last week) I haven't really done much get out and drive tuning, but I monitor afr to and from work every day. If temps can get down to <100degF in the next few weeks I'll drive it out to LA and Orange and see what freeway mileage is. If I can keep my afr in the high 14's low 15's I'll be in the 30mpg range.

How is the performance compared to the 2 barrel? Much different?

It's kind of apples and oranges unfortunately. With the 2bbl I had larger valves, bigger cam, a little more compression, more boost, and race fuel. Back when I was driving this on pump gas and 2bbl (which was a very long time ago) I didn't pay too much attention to it. I can say with this carb it can idle without loading up like the 2bbl did and full throttle feels great (although I haven't made any long pulls on it yet).
But if I had to say/guess either way- wide open throttle is very similar. With this cam ending around 6k and the last one still pulling at 7500. Once I'm fully happy with the afr readings I will put it on a dyno for some hp/tq numbers.

Yea Dan It does take a while to get these 4 barrels right  but in the end we haven't spend big Buck$ to do it ether, just 'time',,and maybe a few sleepless nights   so far I'm getting 26 mpg too,an with a 750 Demon, I have the 680 Quick fuel on my 2276 now so It should be better yet?
could not figure out how to Boost reference the power valve on the Demon ,but it works great on the QF 680, AFR #'s look great when Spooling up 8)

Edelbrock 600 on my daily 2276

Yes! Lots of time but it sure is fun to see the changes in afr as you make adjustments. And 26- that is awesome! I use my wife’s mustang as my goal. Her 2017 2.3 ecoboost averages around 23mpg around town and just above 30 on the freeway. So if I can do that I consider it good.

So I’ve got my around town economy at 22.4mpg- pretty close to what I want now. Afr readings are looking great on my idle circuits. Now I’ll start working on primaries. Drivability of this carb has been great. Wonderful idle quality and smooth throttle response.

Wow- 28 madmike!!? Is that city or freeway driving? My usual city drive is to work. 5 miles and 6 stop lights. I’ve watched in my expedition the difference between hitting all green light compared to hitting all red lights: 12mpg hitting all red, 17.5mpg hitting all green. Accelerating away from a stop makes a huge difference in mpg. Once it cools down I will take a drive out to Orange County and see what my freeway mpg is. It’s about a 2hr drive and I’m expecting high 20’s to low 30’s.

I don't think I did any better than that with my stock 40 horse.
