Mainly I don't want to build an exhaust. Yes, internal waste gate and newer turbo, if it fits a T3 CB exhaust I'd consider it. Not going to sneeze every HP out of my motor. I don't like breaking stuff, I rather build more stuff than go back.
The choke point is the 37mm end casting inlet It's only going to flow so much. Once its built and tuned I'll leave it and work on something else. Like turbo my buggy....?

It will haul ass! Although I'm not sure that an internal waste gate will fit on the CB header. I don't remember anyone using an internal on the CB anyway. Pretty tight down there.

I need a free TD04L for placement and see how things look. Subaru oil only turbo what years? You're right not with a CB header. If you break down that header you could use a collector cut off a regular header some J tubes some bends, weld it up. I bet it would fit, some how? Necessity is the mother of invention.

Wouldn't it just be easier to use an external waste gate?! There are many ways to do a header. You could even use a stock header then just make your up pipe 180* back around to where you need it. You could make a header easy enough but you would likely have damn near as much as buying a CB would be. Cut one up as you mentioned. I used a regular header on my first drawthrough build. There are very few rules when building these! Here you can kind of see what I did.

Also I wouldn't use a TD04-13T. Thats what I have on my stock 1600 and it spools pretty on it. For you it would be silly fast boost.

That's nice and simple; right off a triangle header. Is that a TD04L? Friend of mine has a Subi turbo off an '06 wrx , water and oil turbo though. That one would be free. Looks like I should still go T3 for a tucked setup and use a ext. BOV . Engines coming out getting new heads. Got main bushings on the way for the turbo. shaft measured .49985" on average; spec is .4000" to .3997" turbo takes standard bushings $12.00 ebay. I like the stock pulley!

No, that one in that pic is a little T3
Also, almost every turbo is water and oil cooled. Just don't use the water part. It works just fine. I bet every single person on this forum has water ports on their turbo that are unused.

Didn't know that. All my turbo experience is VW turbo diesel through MK 4 all oil only. I've got 2 variable vain MK 4 cores one MK 1 Garrett for a 1.6L and a whole MK 1 KKK turbo diesel with 0 miles and hydro lifter head, but that's for a different forum water cooler. I'm branching out to gas. Thanks for the feed back, I'll check on that '06 turbo get the model. It might be free to me.

If it's free definitely take it. But I don't think it will be right for your build. After this hurricane is gone, if I'm not dead I will try to get you a good video of how quickly it spools my little stock 1600. I think it's going to be way too small for you. They do have a kit that would turn it from a 13 to a 19 but it looks like it's been on back order for over a year.

Got a line on a 2000 WRX turbo off 2.0l working . Guy says it's a td04 seems to think it says 1 not an L. Is a TD04L not off a WRX, but off an outback or forester? Hoping to get a look at it Sunday. Can't seem to get pictures of it.
