Gunna have to keep that in mind. There is a big difference between 10-12 pounds and 20-25 pounds of boost.

Yes eas even thinking of going more with the meth. On my current 1776 with tdo4l-13t i am at around 20 (1.2bar) without meth but the charge cooler helps a lot. Also only for short periods of time, it is impossible to keep that boost on the roads.

The meth would sure help with the intake temps. These guys are reporting that they sometimes see ambient temps under boost. That's nuts. I'm seeing more like 110-120 degrees @ 95-98 degree ambient temps with my water/air intercooler.
I'm curious why you built a stroker if you already couldn't keep the 1776 on the road?

The 1776 was built long ago and only minor changes made.

The 2109 was built from scratch with more attention to detail and more cu, I did have some doubts if I should install it since the 1776 runs very good at the monent.

But I can't wait to start up the new engine even if I dont make much more power it will be fun.

Can always have more power ;)

I’m hoping my meth and charge cooler keep things cool.
One thing to consider is having the injector for meth enough up stream to absorb lots of heat (and for your IAT sensor to see that)

How does the FK8 compare to the W120?

I went with the W120 because I had 1.25 rockers already. Is it worth going to a FK8 with 1.4s?

I think I read the FK series was more gentile on the valvetrain too.
Also I had the opportunity to have a nice long conversation with Dave Kawell once and he is a very well known VW turbo engine builder. FK8 is what he recommend to me.

Thanks will keep it in mind, maybe for an upgrade. Getting the cam and 1.4 rockers is a bit pricey and takes a long time to get here.

I did read up on it a bit too and it seems the fk8 likes to rev more too

Did some more reading and leaning towards a td05 16g as a start and maybe upgrade to a 18 or 20 compressor if needed. I dont want all out power and drivebility to suffer.

Don't know how much bigger the td05 is than the td04 so may run into space issues.

Mike makes a valid point most of the Mitsubishi turbos here are run due to convince. But if you ran a garret I am sure there is one in a similar size and you don’t have to worry about the strange flange issues.

I am only sticking to mhi for now since I am running one that I can upgrade easily and already have the flanges and everything.

Upgrades in future will probably change to different turbo.

I am in a similar situation, The TD04 13T works well on smaller motors but is far too small for a 2L or larger engine, I have been looking for a while for a good deal on a VF22, VF34 or VF30 turbo any of these should work nicely for your engine. I am leaning towards a Garrett T3/T04E for my 2276, They are available for less than $700 shipped and have several options available.
Good Luck
