Yeah, I don’t get the lack of BOV’s on CB kits.

Everything is fitted and complete. Just need to TIG the seams and figure out the BOV which will just go on the charge pipe somewhere, not a big deal.

Its going to be a while before I take it out, so between now and then ill run a boost gauge, wideband, clean the carbs, swap and gap the plugs. Might fire it up on a nice day just to get the timing/distributor figured out.

Decided to put a BOV in there afterall. Has anyone tried to get a BOV vacuum signal from the IDF vacuum port, or will I have to drill/tap the manifolds?

Ready to first fire. Of course stuff doesn't fit the way you expect with bolts in it. My oil drain was hitting the alternator pulley, but I was prepared for this, i knew I could chop down the outside flare of the pulley and get some space. I need to change the plugs out though, maybe some D8EAs. I did buy some colder NGKs already but they are 14mm thread and I have 12mm.

If I get a nice day I might push it out and at least get my idle and spark set. Curious to see how quickly this tiny turbo spools up since had no clue how to judge behavior of different turbo sizes. (Its a TB25, .49AR turbine)

I have the same 12mm plugs, Must be CB's 044's I'm going to try them in Iridium or what ever their called..
yepper that .049 will spool quick but do pick up a wideband soon,it's a must have for tuning

What is your ignition setup? At the moment I just put stuff in there that was on the 1915 before. Im trying to figure out if I should be using resistor plugs or not with a 009, or if I should get a stronger coil with an inline resistor.

I have a wideband coming, should make things much easier.

for the last few years I've been using a single point Mallory dizzy(locked to 24*) with a blue coil swapped it for a flamethrower coil last year.I wold like to find a good Mallory CDI box some day to try.

Thanks dude. I have some black bosche coil and an 009 which I limited but didnt lock. (still need to tune it). I suppose ill let it rip and worry about it when/if it becomes a problem.

Full fender, looks like mine will be spooling up quick then. As long as it doesnt run out of steam, but I dont think it will. I guess some people push 200+ whp on little 4 cylinder cars, so with the small amount of boost ill be running I should be well into the efficiency range.

nothing wrong with a 009 I have the chrome version 094 in my buggy too,lol K.i.s.s. method ,I forgot if it's limited or locked , tighten up the gap on your spark plugs to 0.18 with that black coil or you'll blow the spark out,,don't ask.LOL ,,also you will learn to 'short shift ' with a Turbo That puts a'Load' on it ,,kind of like going up a small hill, don't expect it to boost without a load,, like just revving it up
