The issue was rocker alignment. So swivel feet are center because they don't rotate the valve, or as close to centered as you can get, you don't want the foot half way off the valve. You have to remember the swivel feet came from the six cylinder and unless you've been in one, you wouldn't know they are centered.
Can the springs rotate the valves ? The answer is yes, not so much on compression, but on decompression when their under their own power closing the valves the winding of the springs promote this.
