In theory you could use the carb “dry” as a draw through throttle body. Blow through is more common but if you want the path of least change, that could work.
Also need some method of assessing fuel/air mix. Wideband o2 with driver module and signal to the ECU is the common approach, although narrow band can work or even “by your nose” but going lean would spoil your day.

Well throttlebodies are pretty cheap so might just buy a 2" one for my intake system. Then modify stock manifolds for injectors and buy a trigger wheel setup.

You can do that for sure, but the intakes might be a bottleneck if you end up building a stroker. Someone else might be able to confirm/deny that better than me though.
