Yes you pop out the rubber flange cap and then you need flat nose snap ring pliers to the snap ring.
For measuring For axle length both the inner and outer CV flange are on the same plane (same height) across from each other. They may straight across or flanges can be either offset depending on length of trailing arm. An example would be using a 3in longer trailing arm, the outer flange would be further back and axle will be at an angle.

This is my Chenowth I bought a few weeks ago. Came without engine or transaxle, but did have the aftermarket 3x3 trailing arms, 930 CVs and axles. And torsion bars eliminators and uses coil overs FOX Shocks for suspension.
The transaxle in pictures is just a dummy setup I am using to see how much clearance I have around.

One thing about staying here is that I have never seen some of the things shown done before so the info would be good here too.

What kind of terrain are you using the rail for and how much travel do you expect to get. The spring plates seem to be short but then...

For off road parts I buy from KarTek in Corona, Fibercraft in Reno, Pacific Customs in Corona, McKenzie’s in Anaheim, and Moore Parts in Anaheim.
I always had good luck with buying parts from these places. Both KarTek and McKenzie’s are both involved with off road racing and have very knowledgeable people to talk to. You may pay a little more, but them sharing their knowledge is priceless.
