Here's a pic of my '68, I put a Bus Boys albatross front beam on it. I think it lowered the front a little over 2", the rear hasn't been adjusted. Not exactly slammed, but a nice stance to it.

Hey Ron,
What year is that exactly? I see a basic 68 up bay with 67 down side windows. Looks pretty cool. Is that the kit from England?

Ron,
I actually like this side better.

Amazing how removing those big side windows changes the looks so drastically.
plus this is cool & clean.

I personnaly have had to repair several bus's that were lowered by pulling torsions. One bus had to replace the beam because of cracks that developed from the pounding it took from the weak springs. When lowering this way it WILL pound the ball-joints to a short life. Save-up for the adjusters, you won't regret it. I also cut out the bump stops in the front to allow for a little travel.

It's a '68, and according to the VIN it came from the factory as a panel. It's somebody's butcher job, but it makes for interesting conversation with VW folk. The scalloped one - I competed in a show or two with that one. Haven't seen it around in the last few years though.

Go here and check out the Suspension Conversions - Type 2 & Vanagon link, then check the Albatross Front Adjustable Beam link for the front and the Rear Lowering Plates (Boomerangs) link. These are "proper" ways of doing it.
heres a pic with these installed

Great photos!
That bagged bus will never be able to roll down its windows because of the mid chopping. Never seen anything like that.
The other lowered bay looks great!

I thought I would just make a dropped bay. You got to admit it really changes it.

Then to add some retro looks..

Is this 2 low or possible to do properly?
Jakes bus would look good like this.
