What to use for lifters?
John C. will have the inside Scoop on the Performance Technology Frankenstein heads which are Type 1 heads reworked to fit the Type IV engine. They were pictured in VW Trends about 5 months ago I think. John is buying one of the first sets.

type I headz on type IV case!!!!!I would love to put a 1 5/8 merged header on my type IV with stinger.
If this conversion is successful I am sure type IVs will be more recognized in America
so parts and competition will go in force.John C. would be a good rep. to start a trend.

Hi,
I have just fitted a Eurorace 'G' grind into my type 4 and was recommended Johnston lifters as the ideal pairing. That was by Stateside Tuning over here in the UK.
