Doghouse Repair has CVs Type4/Thing Race--they sell the parts of the CV's seperatly see:

They also have Thing ball joints. They realy do refund shipping back to actual cost like it says in their adds. I have purchased ball joints from them, not the CVs parts.

Rick, If you want a "locker" for your thing trans there is a guy "Bruce2 from Vancouver" who has them on a regular basis. He is a very knowledgeable guy on this issue and hangs out on the transaxle forum of this site. He gets about half what you would pay directly from Quaffe for the diff. I have one on my off road Herr Kubelmann and it is a joy to turn both rear wheels in harmony. I did not get mine from Bruce but from a racing buddy on a fluke for a way low price.. Good deals come up now and then. I love mine and would buy all I could find for what I paid. Best of luck. K-mann

My comoderator has given this tip a number of times. so, I will post it once again. The only Cv and axle set up that is the "real" Thing set up comes from the 924/944 Porsche. There are tons of them out there at a way lower price than a T-2 Bus ( smaller balls) and "Thing only" There are also a load of folks selling individual parts to build "Thing" CVs that will say "Lobro compatible" that does not mean Lobro... The best deal around is to find a source for 924/944 CVs that have been cleaned adn inspected. BtW... I have a source. This is not a plug but rather an offer to help those looking for low cost CVs and axles... K-mann

Just scored a ton of cool Thing parts. Stock Thing Brakes front and back, CVs and axles, stubs, wiper arms interior lights and more. Good prices not show car parts. Real prices for real thing owners. K-mann
