I did not convert to irs. I know it is possible, but i would not take the time to do that, i would just buy a 69 pan and stick the body onto it. Oh, the frame head is bent, as well as the beam, although i can bearly notice it with the beam, but oh well huh?

DANG!

Post by vwoval.com »

Zowie! That was hit fairly hard wasn't it? I at first thought you could add just a front clip.. but it looks like it caught the drivers bottom door also.

I had a friend in high school that drove a beater VW with rims to school. One day he was involved ina serious wreck and decided to rebuild it. It came back slammed and rebuilt waaayy better than before. This was in the mid 80's when the two tone paint jobs were hot. It was really cool.

So keep your spirits up and good luck!

Parts

Post by slamiam »

Nope, left Saturn for Cadillac/Olds/Hummer (same company). I really need some fenders (2 rear, left front), running boards (if you want to sell the billets), and some other little stuff (the dual carb setup, hmmm??). Gimme a call @ work if you can (471-3367)

I only have front disk brakes, and no rears.
It's unfortunate about your car. I'm just glad to hear that you and your friend were not hurt (or worse yet, killed) and can learn from this. Driving a car like yours on the street without rear brakes is an accident waiting to happen. It's inevitable. If anything, count yourself lucky...

Tell me about it. I was not driving or a passenger, but the same statement still holds true, someone could have been seriously hurt or killed. By the way, your website is not done.

i am parting the car out... the entire car (what's left) for 500
I am very reluctant to cut out the top because the car is still restorable, and i would rather see it restored than cut up.
thanks
