I'm having to build the same sort of axle, but for different reasons. I'm using a Hewland sequential that uses the smaller type 1 CV joint, But I'm slinging the grease out and over heating the CV to the point of failure. I do not have the room on the outboard side to run the same 930 CV so I have to keep that one there. Not having issues with the outboard side anyway.
I ended making a set of adapters that mount to the smaller flange but accept the larger 930 cv. Have not finished the project yet to test proof of concept yet, but I'm close to ready. Here is a 3D printed example of what they look like.
