GEX???

Post by No1uknw »

Well I'd like to throw another name around and run it through the dirt. Now when I was a dumb kid I got a 72 bus the engine had sucked a valve and blew a hole through the backside of the case. So I went down to Kragens to get an engine (first mistake or should I say getting the 72 bus was the first mistake). They get their engines from SIR (southsomething/southernsomething Import Rebuilders its been a few years now). Well they put the distributor drive shaft in 180 degree's off. When I finally figured this out and called Kragens then them they insisted that I somehow caused the shaft to come out and then pushed it back in (yeah sure I did that exactly 180 degree's). To make a long story short I lost my old longblock (worthless anyways) returned the engine they sold me it was a fight to get my money back but I did then ended up getting rid of the bus.

Southwest Import Rebuilders or SIR for short. The shop I worked at tried them for a while, but once again the volume rebuilder's quality was horrible. Your story of the distributor pinion being 180 out isn't surprising.

This shows us once again that just because a shop is big and fancy, it doesn't mean they are the best. Stick with the small shops who know what they are doing and who care about customer satisfaction.
