Thanks for the pics Mike!

Shad Laws once mentioned that some-one had gone to great lengths of welding two cylinders together. I guess this must be the one he spoke about.
Maybe that was part of his inspiration to developing his 'Nickies'

BTW, the 964 barrels (from the 3,6 motor) mentioned worked stock with a 76,4mm stroke, so thats probably also about the limit you ca go with them. Other Porsche Nikasils used even shorter stroke cranks...

i just got some 90mm nickasil p&cs from a 2.7 there made to run 70.4 crank i think hoping to put them in an oxy but had some shipping trouble so no real measurements yet thinking about using a 1.9 or maybe 2.1 with shims might also have to sleeve the base to fit the 94 hole hopefully more info soon

good luck with those. I think you would have to sleeve both ends. When you get them, I'd like to know their dimensions.

Why didn't you get some 95s or 97s? Price?

Was that not the ~2.8l Berg car that went quicker when racing in Australia? It wasn't an Oxy' so 50/50 wrong.

I saw those cylinders demonstrated by Gene Berg in his shop and one of the sons, I think it was Gary.
They were 97 mm and the stroke was 90mm, equals 2659 cc.
The year? 1992 maybe?
Remember and will not forget the thoughts I had on costs as I know what I had paid for my Mahle Oettinger 90 mm set and I was/am aware that Porsche is not cheaper.

Hey Fredrik,
Do you know what cylinders Gerd Weiser and others used when they had the 97mm Nikasils on oxyboxers. This forum never got around to it of finding out...

Thanks in advance,
Walter
