Never seen one with vent window either

. Did you notice the chrome engine lid vents on the black two door?....I have a set of those...NOS in the box.....

.
By theway, in case you guys don't know this about the "ground" glass on the front door windows of the type 4....its a marvel of design. Better than vent windows any day for what it does.
The vents on the front glass are designed to create a draft along the headliner when the window is cracked about 1/2". They do this because of the two little sets of louvers near the quarter windoews behind the back door and the 6 little slot vents on the wagon. The air is flow through. Its parts safety for running with the gas heater and maitaining safe ventilation...AND it makes the gas heater heat the interior and defrost the windows ...100% faster. The heat pushes forward and up from the floor. It is drawn along the roof liner and to the back glass. It sets up a rolling circulation in the interior. Much faster heating. It also draws cigerette smoke along the roof and out the back vents.
Speaking of back vents....I am contemplating a mold for the rear window carboard molding that goes on the 2 and 4 door models. It will be molded urethane....and have a small center mounted fan ...tubular like what you see in the inline heater assisters.
As of right now.....I have at least 15 parts I am setting up to manufacture limited #'s of. I just have so little time.
(1) cooling intake boots
(2) auxiliary air reg boots
(3) gas tank boots
(4) MPS diaphrams (virtually done)
(5) Rear window molding
(6) Track control do-nuts (done)
(7) control arm bushings (mold is done)
(8) repair kit for center link...almost done
(9) sway bar mounts...mold done
(10) idler bushing drawings...done
(11) mods for struts...drawings done
There are a few more. A lot of this depends upon my schedule in the next 6 months. I also have a method of using late beetle rubber in all of the glass and having it work perfectly. I hope to photo document the install in my car in october.
Also....who would be interested in ...front bras for the 411/412. I am contemplating making them by masking the front surfaces of the car, removing the bumper, flockig the surface for a soft inner coat...and spraying on bed liner.....thus making a removable two piece hard shell "bra" for the car.
Sorry to post these here...but I have been working out design and production details...while sitting on the can again...
