Nice!!
Sweet!! I like the IV also! What about adding a small side view of the car there in the middle. Have you seen that cool color explore pic that is 3d and shows the car in a cad view and you can see the seats and car components? I have a copy of it. I think it was from Tuna or club site.
Hey, LOL, maybe the 412 club patch should be in the shape of the car kinda so its funny lookin like the 411/412 or maybe a stop sign since it was the end of the air coolers, lol! Thx Bill

Except...that the outer ring of black...needs to be a gear cog shape
. It would also be nice to see that reversed out. Black between the cars and the cars in white and black. The outer ring/gear cog in white with black outlines.
About 6 years ago, I had been searching a nd asking a few state DOT's about how many were registered. I estimate...because iu sed to travel a lot in areas....that 6 years ago, there were perhaps 300-400 running of all models.....with maybe 125 of those being 2 door 4 speed models. I would add about another 125 to that by now.....and subtract about a third for failures, idiots like the guy who went off roading....and accidents. Maybe still about 300-400 all told. Ray

The company I deal with isn't the cheapest, but they aren't out of67 T1 wrote:Tuna, what is the est. cost of site hosting? "Charter" members could assist is initial build costs.
line. They have multiple fast connections and I've yet to see them
down. The going rate for a small site is $15/month. During it's
development, I will host it here at home, on a server on my DSL
line. During that phase, it'll probably be something like
t4registry.tunacan.net Once the site is ready to go "live", we'll need
to have worked on the on going monthly costs. A domain name is
also ~$12/year, which we could select like www.type4registry.com
That's what I've got....

Sounds good guys, I'll work on that "cogged" design. Just let me know how else I can contribute, though at the moment, I'm scrimping and scraping together money to buy a house. The place I was looking at before came on market again, and it's a car lover's dream- two car attached garage, another 4 car garage behind the house, and behind that, a big insulated shop building with carports on the back of that! I'm crossing my fingers...

Hey all,
Here's something I slapped together. http://t4registry.tunacan.net/
It's just something to ponder what needs to be done. If you click on
the "E N T E R" on the main page, you'll see some of the stuff I'm
looking into working into the site. If you have a suggestion or want
to discuss something, post them here.

DO NOT get any thing screen printed until you consult me. I have lots of connections. It is my business. I have been in over 2700 screen printing plants. I have connections anywhere. I also make screens.....the best. I will not buy low quality screen printed goods...and neither should you. That goes for plates, decals...which I can easily print....including reflective
....and most especially fine, soft hand...low ink deposit...quality T-shirts and sweat shirts. A low of people owe me a lot of favors. A lot of these are medium sized auomatic shops with more than one 14 color automatic machine. Just decide what we want.....and how many.....and what kind of shirt....and I will tell you what quality issues we need to pay attention to...and who should print it. Then we can pull in the favors. Can you or do you know anyone who makes the clear vynal static cling stickers you place on the inside of your windows? Thats what my local club uses for it's club "stickers". Works GREAT and you dont have to worry about messy glue when you remove it!raygreenwood wrote:DO NOT get any thing screen printed until you consult me. I have lots of connections. It is my business. I'm glad everyone likes it. This is just to get us thinking about67 T1 wrote:Great start. How can I help?
what we want on the site and what needs to be done.
As for what can be done, how about ideas? Can you write the
mission statement? The mission statement tells all what reason
this club was created, what we stand for, etc.
We will all need to contribute to make the site a really good
resource. For instance, how about really good pics of everyone's
cars? I for one don't have one, but if I could get some photos
from you guys, we could start the galleries.
How about scanning your owner's manual from your Type IV?
That way if someone doesn't have it, they can look it up here.
One of my eventual goals is to have the gallery represent each
of the color options available in each year. That way anyone
can see what the colors look like on a car.
Ever take your Type IV to a car show? Take some pics and
write up a summary of the trip and the response you got at
the show. How did the car do? Did it have problems, or was it
perfectly reliable? Did you get a lot of people asking what is
that?
Things like those are what we need. I will be working on a
layout for the site with colors and graphics. Just keep throwing
out suggestions.
Here's a decision to be made: do we sell the t-shirts and stickers
to the public, or are they club members only?

If no one comes up with the static cling stickers, I can make vinyl stickers as an alternative. I've got the computer and machine set up in my living room ready to go.
That site plan looks great Tuna. You think maybe we could squeeze in a how-to section? Maybe as people finish their projects, they can submit pictures, details, tricks and blunders for the benefit of everybody else.

Wow, great job again Tuna!
Great site start! Tuna has some great Ideas! Thanks for all the work guys! I for one would support the site! Maybe you could make the shirts the price to support the site? Maybe one style for club members with one side with the pics of member cars and the other shirt without them and just the club patch on one side of the front? The club shirt could be a little more then the reg shirts and comes with a patch and window sticker?
Then if the regs dont sell you can still make them club tees and add new member cars to the collage. LOL, did you guys see that emachineshop.com where they laser cut any material from your up loaded design? We could have bad bones 411/412 club stuff made? Like cool cup holders or front vw emblem replacements with our club patch as our front emblems, lol!!! Bill
