Then we will need to change the name of the club to reflect the
T3s.

Ok, this is what we need.

1). Name of club. Nothing too cutesie, but not boring.
2). New logo with the Type 3 included.
3). If it's ok with everyone, I will use the current logo for the T4 registry.
3a). I need to have the logo changed from "Club" to "Registry". Can the artist who did it make the changes and get me a copy?

This is going to take some work, so jump and get your hands dirty.

I'll work on some logo stuff tonight, I was starting to this weekend, then the power went out on me and my UPS is buried somewhere in one of my storage units.

I thought the premise we had agreed upon was that 'we will be a club,.....not a registry'. The registry will be a subcomponent of 'club'.

So changing the logo from "3a). I need to have the logo changed from "Club" to "Registry". " is not the proper course of action. Or did you mean to say"...from Registry to Club."?

Guess I needed to look at the logo before I posted this.

Im coming in late, lot of stuff going on with me, work might have me down in Pensacola for awhile.

I vote for a 411/412 club WORLDWIDE

I vote for a 411/412 ONLY club, allowing owners and previous owners. I am already part of a General VW club and really dont need to be in another.

For me this is also the first time I hit this thread. Been on holiday (in my 411), European lenght, i.e. 3 weeks+.
I 'd like to see an international registry/club, 411/412 only (including 411/412 enthousiasts without car).
Although I own a type 3 as well (1972 fastback), bringing in the type 3 will immensely dilute the 411/412 presence, just by the sheer number of type 3's out there compared to 411/412's.
As mentioned earlier in this thread, there is a good level of organisation of 411/412 owners in The Netherlands and Germany, although hardly web based. There are yearly 411/412 exclusive meetings, alternatingly in The Netherlands and Germany, organised by a cooperation of both clubs.

Imagine if we could get all the living vehicles (411/412) of the world in this one registry!

I wish you all the best in setting it up. Jan Peter

So we pretty much decided this "club" will include TYPE 3's? If so then whats the point of doing all of this? There are plenty of Type 3's out there as well as Type 3 clubs, we are just lumping ourselves in with other VW's and are once again going to take a back seat to another car. There are Type 3's in my local club and they view my 412 as nothing even simular to their cars.

We are going to be "putting our cars against" other types of VW's that have a good parts availability and are alot easier to "fix up" then our cars.

What makes the Type 4 different from all other AC'ed VW's is the fact that IT IS DIFFERENT. A Type 3 is basically an elongated BUG with a BUG motor flattened out. Sure it shares some parts with a Type 4, but not enough to lump it in. Late model Buses share MORE parts if you just count the ENGINES, are we going to include them as well?

IT IS NOW TIME FOR THE TYPE 4 TO STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD OF OTHER AC'D VW'S. TO LUMP IT IN WITH TYPE 3'S DILUTES THE SPECIALNESS (is that even a word?) OF THE VEHICLE, AND WILL PUSH IT INTO OBSCURITY.

GIVE THE TYPE 3 ITS OWN REGISTRY

GIVE THE TYPE 4 ITS OWN REGISTRY.

Question 1, I feel it should be international.

Question 2, Open to 411 and 412 vehicles, current / previous and future owners.

I agree with you here.
GIVE THE TYPE 3 ITS OWN REGISTRY
Only the Type 4 will get a registry, as there is no purpose in duplicating
what someone else has done. Heck, even the T3 KG has a registry ( http://www.type34.org/ ).

DB, actualy the vote is leaning more towards 411-412 (and enthusiast) only, than to include Type 3. Think it is like 5 (TYpe 4 only); 3 (include Type 3); and 3 for all Vdubs.

Regardless of the vote, we ALL agree the whole premise of this club is the 411-412. This vote only determines who is 'let in'. I agree totally that the only 'registry' should be dedicated to the type 4, as I think all would agree on that point.
