Well, I see that Ray's like myself and has been formulating a plan of attack to make his own 412GT.

Myself, I prefer the 411 front end, and mine will have more of a Germanlook feel. Someday....

412GT ?
I like the sound of that. Just adding those two little letters already makes the car cooler.
Guess automakers figured that out long ago though. VW had their 'packages' with M codes. Guess I have 412M11/M23/M27

I've always said these cars were chick magnets.
Nope BUSES are chick magnets, I was running down I65 this morning and had a fine ass lady from Virginia in a Volva waving at me.

Butt ugly!?...coming from a man in a sheet metal loaf!?

. Yeah buses are chick magnets....but only if those chicks think you have a bed in it....and only if they are the type of chicks that cruise the highways "looking" for rolling stock with beds . Just be sure to "cover your rig"......(as ZZ-top used to say)

.
Actually, the 411/412 was not really that ugly. The four doors and two doors are so frequently mistaken for SAAb 900's...and several other cars of the day. Its just that VW did not seem to let any of the normal detail styling people in on this project. They made everything new..then put "bug" wheels on it. Ray

AHHHHHHHHH, the fun times I had in a van...........
Now that I am married I just cling to the fond memories of the things done in a van, now I have a family car, the 412!

Hey hey. I'm not saying that 412s (in general) are butt-ugly, just that one puke green woody, cut, lowered, slammed, banged, dragged, nasty interior 412 is butt-ugly.
fine ass? I didn't realize the word nazis let us say ass on this site. ass, ass, I typing ass. I'm offending people, ha ha, ass.
Hey, speaking of buses, I saw a 21/23 window sitting in a 'corral' a while back. I had seen it previously, but only recently realized it was a 21/23 window. The guy runs a re-sale wholesale dealers only car place in Montgomery and hords every VW that comes through. Then he puts then in his 'corral' to sit and rot. no 411-412s though. I think the 21/23 window are about the coolest Vdubs made.
