Wow!, I also got an email from David about the price. They want 200 Euros for it. So, if Albert's find is real for 99, then it is the one to get. I will tell the kid to let it go.

I searched the german ebay site and could not come up with anything using the search terms "neuwertig uiala". Don't think that "uiala" is a good word as I got no hits when i searched it by itself.
Nor could I find anything in the 35-99 euro price range when searching "VW typ 4". Albert we need some help here, us Americans are pretty inept at dealing with other languiges.

Wasn't I who bought the dash. But I see what you mean, all black. Dash sold fast when you told where it was. Maybe Germans like mechanical parts more than parts that make your car shine. Because dash was there awhile. Was tempting.

Hey, OK I am the one who snapped it up. Saw Albert's posting and it was a no brainer. 99 Euros is more than a fair price, at least from what I viewed from the photos. So it is coming to the US of A Now the question is will it ever make it into my 412? It really is something I have wanted to replace for some time.

The wood grain plate was also installed on most European cars. Certainly on the "L" versions. Jan Peter

Hi! A quick update on the dash fiasco. As the German postal system apparently won't ship (or US postal won't accept from Europe, one of the two) anything more than 1.2 meters and the dash is 1.37, I had to cancel the deal with the E-bay seller. The shipping charge would have been 80 Euros using the mail, almost as much as the piece, which was 99 Euros. So just to warn everybody, the only option seems to be UPS which would run about 300 Euros

Ouch. Maybe Deathbus is right and more will surface, ideally for those of us in the USA, here. Anyway thanks to Albert for pointing it out anyway and the seller at E-bay was very reliable and honest

That sucks man! I've heard German Post is very affordable when it is possible to send items through them to the U.S. Good decision on the UPS though, 400 Euros would be edging towards the price it would take to have Just Dashes restore a dash I bet.
